We have reached our goal✨

Due to your generosity and love for all animals, we have reached the $5,000 goal for matching funds. The Dona Farrar Spay/Neuter Memorial Fund has reached the $10,000 mark and is still growing. Over 50 spay/neuter surgeries have been performed and many more to come. The fund has contributed a part or all of the cost of surgery depending on owner circumstances. Ultimately, all monies collected will be used strictly for spay and neuter of pets and strays. Additional donations are always accepted so we can keep the good news going. Thank you everyone for your support.

Dona Farrar Spay/Neuter Memorial Fund

We are over halfway to meeting our $5000 match goal. Thank you to everyone who recognizes the benefits of spaying and neutering. Your donation is very appreciated. The program is open and scheduling has begun. If you are ready to donate please open the DONATE page to pay via PayPal and CC. Checks should be mailed to SPCA San Pat County, Box 1693, Aransas Pass, TX, 78335

European Fine Dining Fundraiser

The second annual European Fine Dining event was held Saturday, May 5th at the lovely bayside location of the Ingleside Beach Club. More tickets were sold this year which meant more diners and more food! As a result, we are excited to report an increase in net revenue. We all agree the event was a very rewarding experience for the members and volunteers, patrons and donors, who make it possible.

Our member chef, Ronny Claes, prepared a delectable four-course dinner which began with a luscious Cauliflower and Red Pepper soup. The salad was a delightful blend of Spinach Linguini with Blackfin Tuna. A lovely entrée of Chicken a l’Orange was accompanied by wild rice and sautéed zucchini. For dessert Mr. Claes presented a beautiful Puff Pastry with warm Brie and honey-lemon sauce. Diners could choose from wine, beer or sodas.

We wish to thank Winery on the Bay in Rockport for donating the wine for the evening. For the donation of beer and sodas, we wish to thank Dave and Kathy Clark, Charlotte Lawrence and Becky Roark. Of course the evening would not have been such fun without the many and varied raffle prizes donated by generous individuals and businesses.

Much praise and sincere thanks are due the multitude of willing helpers on and before this special night: Boy Scout Troup 345 in Portland, SPCA San Pat County members and volunteers and all our friends and family. We appreciate ALL of you!! Lastly, the furry friends we aim to please send a resounding MEOW! and WOOF! See you next year 🙂

Letter from the President

Hello everyone,

I would like to introduce myself! My name is Andrea Claes and I was recently elected President of SPCA San Pat County. The President’s position had been open since we lost our beloved President and Director, Dona Farrar, on April 23, 2018. She did so much over the past 10 years to get both the organization and the crown jewel, the Animal Adoption Center, up and running. The new Director appointed by the Board is Patty Heard. She and I will do our best to fill Dona’s shoes. The current Board of Directors includes myself as President; Neal Floerke, Vice President; Pat Danczek, Treasurer; Jennifer Heard, Secretary and Pat Billman, Member-at-Large.

The Animal Adoption Center is a busy place these days with facility expansion and organizational growth to meet the community’s needs. We are erecting a new building that will handle cat and dog intake separate from the Adoption Center. The outer shell is complete and the interior floorplan is being constructed. We have hired a Veterinary Technician to assist with health screenings, checkups, medications and a multitude of other tasks required to keep the adoptable animals healthy and happy. A large play area has been enclosed so the dogs can enjoy some outdoor exercise time.

Casino Night, our largest fundraiser of the year, will be held at the Aransas Pass Civic Center on Saturday, October 20, 2018.  Last year the event was canceled in the aftermath of hurricane Harvey. There is ample opportunity to join a planning committee or a fundraising activity. Please come by and sit-in on our monthly meeting, the first Thursday of every month at 6pm, at the Animal Adoption Center. It is casual, comfortable and open to all.

With expansion and growth, we are needing additional volunteers. There are many ways to contribute from watering the flowerbeds, to walking a dog, to grooming a cat. If you have just a few hours once a week that you can commit to helping us out, we would love to have you join us. The dogs and cats rely on us to care for them every morning and every evening, 365 days a year.

SPCA IS OPENING its doors, dog kennels and cat rooms once again! We’re very happy to be back to serve the community of San Patricio County families and the animals that share their lives.

Our first official day is Tuesday, January 2, 2018 and we look forward to introducing our visitors to their potential furry roommate. Adoption hours will be 10am – 2pm. Feel free to stop in if you’d like to visit the facility, take a tour, donate cat or dog food, drop off new or gently used toys or any of the many other items needed to keep our operation going.

Hoodies, T–shirts and other fun SPCA San Pat County merchandise is on display.

Volunteer applications are available and members are on hand to share information on how you can participate. We are ‘home’ to these sweet animals until someone chooses to take them home forever. Each morning and evening we feed, water, walk, clean up after and play with our big and little friends for the brief time they are in our care.

We are here to provide information on animal adoption, training, spay/neuter, vaccinations and microchipping. Educational materials, a list of area resources and suggestions on steps to take if a stray adopts you are a few ways we can help. Give us a call at 361–332–1445 and we will do our best. If we are out playing fetch or brushing a cat, please leave your name and phone number with brief message. We will return your call.
